Secrets of the Wild Sweet - Love Continuum April 19th

Aloha, Friends!
What does the butterfly know that we have forgotten?
Before they flew, butterflies were caterpillars using imaginal cells to dismantle their world so they could fly into a more evolved future.
They concoct cocoons, transform into their adult selves as butterflies. Imaginal cells dismantle old structures to create something entirely new. Imaginal cells are the biological architects of metamorphosis in insects, guiding their transition from caterpillar to butterfly.
Similarly, shamanic journeys, sacred soundings, and movement meditations often involve profound shifts in consciousness, where the nervous system acts as a conduit for accessing imaginal realms — spaces of heightened perception and creativity.
Humans activate imaginal cells by dipping into the wild, sweet richness of evocative music, feeling cellular movement, aligning authentic motion and e-motion (energy motion), and stretching the fascia, the connective tissue that weaves every cell, organ, nerve, gland, and bone together.
Consciously connected within, we naturally connect more consciously with the world around us. In a collective sense, dreaming represents humanity’s ability to imagine a better world. In the imaginal realms, we are co-creators with the fields of quanta, spirit, information, and ancestry, all dreaming up a healthy planet, grateful society, and healing in a sustainable world.
We dream, intend, and pray. We dream of what’s possible and then bring it into reality through vision, stories, dances, music, and art, for the highest evolution of all.
MYTHS AND DREAMS SHAPES US
Myths are stories from the imaginal realms that spawn how we see the world and act within it. In a healthy world of harmony, by honoring Nature and embracing our community, we sense our wholeness and interconnectedness, acting in ways that sustain life rather than deplete it.
The importance of myth in supporting that harmony is not a so-called “myth.” We tend to think of myths as fantasies, but myths are “facts of the mind” that we can digest, repel or assimilate, and transform.
The reality is that once upon a time, humans shared dreams and stories within a rich tapestry mythic awareness, centering their lives with rites of passage and ceremony. Our ancestors celebrated the changing seasons with rituals to honor Nature, our relationships, and a continuum of changes and cycles.
History has been shaped by myths because, whether we are aware of it or not, mythology and the rituals that support and reveal them carry the human spirit forward, counteracting the fantasies that tend to tie it back.
The failure of modern myths to shape coherent patterns and respectful relationships in our everyday lives could be the main cause for our “Age of Anxiety.”
Our ancestors knew this difficult cycle, the Great Turning, was coming. They said we’ll get through the climate change and the Earth shifts, but the greatest challenge and medicine would be in how we treat ourselves and one another.
We are the children of the belief in separation, but as adults now, we can move beyond the anxiety of separation and accept the quantum reality that we can’t really separate what’s happening inside us and among us, and what happens in and between nations.
We can’t, because everything is connected. There is one holomovement in Nature. Looking inside, we find the microcosm of the whole universe.
Our internal beliefs – our myths — about our separation have projected separateness and isolation into our neighborhoods. We can dream up something else: friendliness, cooperation, wise communities, weathering the challenges of our time, and pulling back from the extinction precipice.
This would be a good time to imagine these more healing visions, and fortunately, many are doing so. The deepest truths and most relevant resolutions come from answers to questions about how to solve the poly-crises without aggression. What we decide at a personal and community level will impact and parallel how the larger calamities in the world will be handled.
WE ARE HUMAN SOCIETY’S IMAGINAL CELLS
In the life of caterpillars, something magical triggers change.
They build cocoons, a chrysalis, and their bodies break down into stiff gooey stuff, a sweet, wild liquid, and in that time their being is completely vulnerable. They can’t defend, can’t speak, but something happens, and a few of the cells begin behaving differently.
They begin to express themselves differently, others follow suit. They shift the way they are behaving and begin to follow. When that happens, transformation occurs.
The key to the change is those cells, called imaginal cells, because they are able to imagine a greater possibility.
Something similar is happening today as 8.2 billion people live on the planet, most of them wanting to live in peace. But our industrial, capitalistic mindset conditioned us to believe in competition and cruelty. But there is hope on the horizon.
A few individuals are waking up.
They are us. We are the imaginal cells of the human species, awakening and nurturing more harmony and peace.
WHAT MYTH ARE WE LIVING?
Underneath the fragile veneer of reason, myths play out in our individual psyches, in politics, in battles between nations, and in spiritual traditions and religions that shape societies.
Knowing our myths, listening to our dreams, and knowing the psychophysical features that underlie our behaviors form a secret opening through which the energies of the cosmos flow into our current reality.
What does the butterfly have to do with myth? Life isn’t just about achieving goals and taking out the trash and watching the news while strangers melt your 401K.
Life is lived in levels of understanding, from the physical, to the energetic, to the mythic. Without knowing that we function as our planet’s imaginal cells, we miss out on the stabilizing power of myth, and of knowing where we came from, why we are here, where good and evil come from, where we belong, what our duties and obligations to life are, what is our purpose, how we can be healed, who our helpers and guides are, and what is our best relationship with our past – our past lives and ancestors – the present, and the future.
EMBRACING NEW MYTHS
On April 19TH from 1 – 5 pm at the New Thought Center in Kealakekua, we will deepen our self-inquiry, blissful natural movement, and connections to our community and planet in the Love Continuum.
In a bio-shamanic space for going within to discover new worlds in the sacred dreaming, we will cocoon the caterpillar, activate imaginal cells, and mark this Spring season with marvels to behold and new awareness for your voyage of life. As we enter timeless realms where Nature’s pure flowing uplifts and informs us, troubles melt and inspiration soars.
On the Saturday before Easter, we will resurrect our connection to life and emerge with widened wings and revelations about the secrets held in our personal and community myths.
With clear intention, after entering sacred space, we will:
- Share sounds, chants, and embodiment practices to clear away clutter.
- Explore the challenges of doing and not doing.
- Interrupt conditioned patterns of behavior & desire in the subconscious.
- Perform the Earthkeepers’ Rite and engage the powers of the directions.
- Meet Guardians from the Dreaming Worlds.
With fewer obstacles to Nature’s pure flowing, our energy, mood, and potentials soar.
I am thrilled being on this journey with you!
With gratitude, Marya
