SILK PAINTING with Marya Mann
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 17, 1:00-5:00 PM & SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 10 AM – 2 PM, 2018

Go with the flow using colors, dyes, hot wax, and resist to create one-of-a-kind works of art. Letting water move the color on silk produces soft lines and blended hues similar to watercolor for other-worldly and brilliant effects. Yet even a beginner can enjoy extraordinary results using the right intention, tools, and materials.

Marya will teach the step-by-step foundations of silk painting and show how salt, alcohol, and other materials help you make original art that is both sensuous and soulful. Students will join fun, fluidity and flair to make their own clothing, wall hangings, or prayer flags.

Open to all levels with an emphasis on relaxation and enjoyment, this Silk Painting workshop on November 17 – 18, at the Society for Kona’s Education and the Arts, will awaken your inner artist and give you new inspiration for manifesting your unique creativity.

Workshop Tuition is $75 for SKEA members and $85 for non-members. Space is limited to 12 students, please register early. Supply fee is $20.00 per student. All materials will be provided. Students will go home with an original silk scarf or wall hanging.

For more information contact SKEA (808) 328-9392 to register and for directions. Contact Marya about the workshop elements, the process, or the materials. Call or email at 808-345-0050 or

“I can’t think of anything more rewarding than being able to express yourself to others through painting. Exercising the imagination, experimenting with talents, being creative; these things, to me, are truly the windows to your soul.” – Bob Ross
