Love Letter to the Planet 2017

Healthy Planet

Aloha, Noble Friends!

Welcome to 2017, a year for gracing what we love with tenderness and appreciation.

Everyone knows the greatest manifestation principle in our universe is love. So today, in gratitude for our hard-working Earth, here is my love letter for the planet:

Dear Beautiful Earth,

Let me congratulate you first for the magnitude of change you have fostered in humans: your glorious eye-opening sunrises, mountains so pregnant with power, they breathe confidence into us. Your gentle streams and thundering cloudbanks stitched with lightening shower us with riches in a million ways that dazzle the senses and uplift my soul.

What do we give back to you? Gratitude, recycling, low wattage light bulbs, home gardens, hybrid cars, lowered carbon footprints and asking this question moment-to-moment: does this feeling, thought or action contribute to a healthy planet?

If it doesn’t, we make another choice. If it does, we do it with the care of a midwife bringing ice chips to the parched lips of a mother in labor. You ARE in labor, giving birth to a New Earth of harmony and healing.

Still, the World Bank recently warned that you could heat up by 7.2 degrees Fahrenheit by 2100, unleashing mayhem and disaster on our ecosystem.

We ought to do more, stop the polluters, restore the ripped up coral reef, march on Washington, go live on seaweed and rice in a solar-powered geodesic dome.

I imagine that you’d like to see more of that, but also more forgiveness, generosity, kindness, compassion, friendliness, honesty, reliability, joy, and clarity. We humans have been known to err on the side of ignorance, greed and anger more times than we like to remember, but we’re attempting to be wiser, more collaborative, less conflicted.

I have been listening to family, clients, students, teachers and friends on many different levels. Out of fear, some become dishonest. Out of anger, some become passive aggressive. Out of pain, we can forget, neglect the deeper commitments and principles we truly believe in.

Being carried away into old, dark habits is one way to prepare for making a fresh start. The key question that acts on negative energy, transforming it into positive energy, is the mantra that has saved lives and may help save the planet: What would we rather have instead?

Shifting attention from what we don’t want and placing it on what we do want collapses the multiple quantum possibilities and distils all that atomic power into one pure goal.

The widespread understanding of the quantum world has finally begun to penetrate our consciousness enough — at exactly the right time — to empower humans into a new and improved state of mindful playfulness.

Here are three elements in quantum theory that give us clues to understanding the nature of our current reality and offer a way through:

1). Einstein’s theory of relativity tells us all matter and energy consists basically of quanta of light, photons. Our bodies, each a community of 50 trillion sentient cells, literally glow, emitting a visible light when we are clear of the dark side and bathing in our natural light.

Quanta are considered to be discrete packets of energy that can change their form from particle to wave and back again. This transformation is called “popping a Qwiff” (meaning the change is a Quantum Wave Function, or QWF). Having an “aha!” experience or bringing new form into being is an example of collapsing the wave function into a particle, or popping a Qwiff. Resolving a hurt or conflict with acceptance and forgiveness, when it dissolves from form back into formlessness, is another way to pop a qwiff, an example of how the magical quality of the light makes us brighter.

2). Light has a non-locality of connection known as the Butterfly Effect. There are ways to tune ourselves into this field of light, where we connect with our lightest, deepest being, with each other and with the larger universe. When we feel this energetic matrix as a creative field, we can absorb its limitless energy, love, and ideas.

3). In communion with this superconscious quantum field, time is relative. The classic Einsteinian example is that two seconds of having your hand on a hot stove feels like two hours, while two hours in the arms of your lover feels like two minutes. The interdependence of all time and all space places like a mega-dimensional fabric that we are sewing with multi-colored threads at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end, but all at the same spacetime.

Of course, you already know all this, Earth. You’ve been weaving with light and love for 4.54 billion years. You are the context, heartbeat, the purpose for our lives. During our 200,000-year evolutionary expedition on your glowing soil, everything we’ve learned came from the environment, drinking your sweet waters and breathing your exhilarating air. We ARE your water and air. We are the heart, mind, and children of your planetary goodness.

Dear Planet, let’s be honest, you are why we know anything at all about how the life works. You showed us with your consistent and unselfish love, which has been as unconditional as anyone could ever imagine. You’ve taught us to grow beets and ride your ocean waves. You’ve been patient, a loving mother to excitable children. So why do some people treat you so badly?

Don’t they don’t know that at the quantum level — on all levels really — what we do to the Earth and to each other, we do to ourselves. We are the weavers and we are the web. We are all in the same canoe, paddling together toward our juicy, fun, hard-working, open-hearted, joyous, and shared soul healing.

On this New Year’s Day, 2017, I affirm you, Earth! May we enjoy the flow of the world, the harmony of your heartbeat and the light steps of your dance. May we remember to BE with you and not always DOing something to you.

You, Earth, are such a model of ingenuity, a gracious host, a symphony conductor for sound living. Your meter and movement give every choice, conversation, and collaboration a direction — the state of wholeness.

Are we strong enough to serve your total health? I affirm it.

Are we kind enough to share unconditional love with each other? I affirm it.

Can we overcome the incongruencies in our hearts and minds? I affirm it!

We are so fortunate. Thank you for your love, Mother Earth!

Amen, Aum, and Aloha!
