What makes us go to war against ourselves?

Shine your amazing light in the Ring of Fire

Aloha, Noble Friends!

Just look at a map – we’re all connected. And the linguistic and cultural connections among these people, from the ancient Mayan culture to the Hindu and from the Hebrew, Native American, Celtic and Aboriginal societies to the Hawaiian, all came from the same seed.

Last Sunday at New Thought Center of Hawaii, we meditated on the visionary beauty of art depicting the soul in a ring of fire, dancing blissfully after defeating evil. Our location within a geographic ring of fire, a field of tilting earth and deep seabed, daily tremblers, tsunamis, and hurricanes, sets the stage for harmonizing the upheavels and conflicts that try to distract us from our true purpose.

Next Saturday, also at New Thought, with our kinesthetic senses awakened and our nadis, or meridians, cleansed through yoga, we will become mindful of the drumbeats of awakening, small and large, and restore the wisdom fire in our bodies and minds.

When humans discovered fire a million years ago, a whole range of possibilities and brain growth occurred. But we have mis-used fire. The fires of contemporary civilization, the outer world of waking dreams and nightmares, is full of struggle. While it is through struggle that we find our genius, we now stand on the precipice of such severe climate change that we risk killing ourselves and our descendants.

We have misused fire by burning fossil fuels, industrialized animal husbandry, and spreading poison chemicals into the water, soil, and air.

How do we reclaim our sanity and coherence growth as a species?

We begin by starting to use fire correctly in our own bodies, in our own lives. For the soul’s growth, for the greater good, for the acceleration of the healing, learn how yogic heat, the inner fire of tapas, can transform us individually, in relationships, and in our communities. Leap into the sacred fire and don’t look back.
